How to Enroll

This guide was written by Odin from the Stardew Valley Forum. You can find the original article here. I have made some minor updates to either the formatting or fields that may not have been on the form when this was written by Odin.

This guide is based on signing up via a desktop browser. The process may differ on a mobile device. Some parts of the sign up process are easier in browsers that offer page translation, such as Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Safari. I've done my best to write this guide so that translating pages is not required though.

Before you start the signup process, it's important to know that setting up a Naver account will require you to submit personal information include your full name, date of birth, and phone number. You will also have to upload an image of a photo ID, although you are encouraged to cover your face and address before uploading it. I understand some people may not wish to share this information with Naver, which I why I'm mentioning it up front. You can learn more about Naver on Wikipedia.

  5. Fill out the other information being sure to use your real name and date of birth as this will be verified later.

  7. Enter your phone number and select "Send Code".
  8. You'll receive a code via text, enter it in the field below. (See the reference image on the right.)
  9. Select the "Sign Up" button at the bottom of the page.
  10. Select the "Start" button on the next page.

You now have a Naver account! The next step is to verify your identity.

Verifying Your Identity

This part requires you to upload a copy of a photo ID to the site, for example a driver's license or passport. Naver only needs to see your name, date of birth, expiration date and gender on the ID.

  1. Take a picture of your ID.
    • I would encourage you to cover your photo, address, and any other personal information that the site does not require, either before taking a picture of the ID, or afterwards in editing software. (See the reference image below.)

  2. Visit https://help.naver.com/inquiry/input.help?categoryNo=14938&serviceNo=5640&lang=en
  3. If you are not already logged in to Naver when you visit this page. Select the Login next to ID.
    • If you are already logged in or once you login your ID and Naver email address will be prefilled in. Do not change these fields.
  4. In the Requirements field select Confirm Legal Name.
  5. Enter your information in the Name and Date of birth field.
    • These must match both your ID and what you entered when you created your Naver account.
  6. Select the check marks next to both the "Consent to verify legal name" and the "Consent to display your verified legal name in English" field. (See the reference image below.)

  8. In the Type of ID card field, enter the type of ID you are using such as Passport or Foreign Driver's License.
  9. In the Issuing country field, enter the Country that issued your ID.
  10. In Authority/Issuing Organization(I have seen this field listed both ways) list who issued the ID.
    • So for a personal example from Riot: I am a US citizen who used my Driver's License. I put the Department of Motor Vehicle and was accepted.
  11. In Expiration date enter the expiration date located on your ID.
  12. In the Request field, enter I am requesting identity verification to use Naver Cafe. or a similar message. (See the reference image below.)

After submitting verification, it may take a day or two for Naver to approve your account. You can check if this has happened by going to https://mail.naver.com/, as they will inform you through your Naver Email not the email address you linked during the creation of your account. Keep an eye out for a message with the subject "Hello, This is NAVER." Click on the message, it should confirm that your account has been verified.

Navigating Naver Guide

This handy guide was put together by Atel2er in the Stardew Valley discord.

  • 펌 : This means it's scooped from elsewhere from a different site, usually a blog or a different cafe. It will contain a link to an external site where the files can be downloaded. Users use this category as mean of advertising the mod for many reasons as it's not allowed to upload to a different site without the owner's permissions.
