Why move from Miraheze?

On June 15th, Miraheze announced it would be shutting down. Although they later reversed the decision to shut down, the wiki admins decided to continue migrating to wiki.gg. On July 3rd Miraheze deleted the old wiki without notifying the wiki's admins.

Can I recover my old username?

Since the old wiki was deleted, unfortunately you can't reclaim your old username anymore. You'll need to create a new account to edit (e.g. by adding a letter or number to the old username).

How can I switch my links from the Miraheze wiki to the wiki.gg version?

You can swap miraheze.org to wiki.gg in the URL and the link will work!

Why can't I add external links to a page? OR Why am I getting a captcha when trying to add an external link to a page?

First, make sure you've verified your email. Second, you may need to make multiple small edits to pages and have your account age a bit (a couple days should do) before you are exempt from the captcha. This is a feature the wiki has to protect against spam / scam links.

Does this affect the main game wiki?

Nope. The official game wiki is hosted by ConcernedApe, and isn't affected by the Miraheze shutdown.
